Mesa Napoles is a gastronomic space in the crossing between Kansas St. and New York St. at Colonia Napoles.
The Project is a response to the low gastronomic offer in the zone and has the intention of becoming both a landmark and a meeting point.
Occuping the low level and first floor almost in their entirety, the intervention of this space responds to the principle of creating visual and physical permeability between the establishment and the exterior.
There’s three low level entry points that communicate between them, creating a pathway that ends in the central table area, an open space confined by the shops and the stairway that surrounds the lift and leads to the first floor.
On the first floor the user can perceive this space as a terrace that opens to the exterior in all it’s perimeter thanks to the folding windowpanes.
Mesa Napoles has a 12 shop capacity focused on a gastronomic offer and has a common beverage bar along with several seating areas.
Every shop is framed with a steel structure that also provides the framework for the shop’s operation: shelfing for product display, metallic cabinets for graphic implementations and a bar-counter with a wooden cover.
The rough finished concrete columns contrasts with the different tonalities of the steel, wood and white mosaic, allowing to understand this new space as an intervention on the original buidling.
