— Porto Innovation Hub by FAHR 021.3 —
An exhibition design by FAHR 021.3, designed to tell the story of innovation in Oporto. A membrane that invites the citizen, that surrounds him and, subtly, defines a set of spaces for the activities of the PIH. A contemporary solution, innovative for its versatility and reusability.
Uma exposição desenhada por FAHR 021.3, criada para contar a história de invocação no Porto. Uma membrana que convida o cidadão, que o rodeia e, subtilmente, define um espaço para as atividades do PHI. Uma solução contemporânea, inovadora pela sua versatilidade e reutilização.
The modular structure is composed of tubular metallic profiles painted gray and green joints. This structure supports the opaque tensioned fabric (for the definition of spaces), its own LED illumination and diffused lighting of the space. The structure is suspended, except for the two tops.
Here, the structure is supported on the floor so that one can easily convert immersive room and auditorium into individual exhibition modules for varied uses.
A estrutura modular é composta de perfis metálicos tubulares pintados de cinzento e juntas verdes. Esta estrutura suporta o tecido opaco tensionado (para a definição dos espaços, a sua própria iluminação LED e luz difusa do espaço. A estrutura é suspensa, exceto nos dois topos.
Aqui, a estrutura é suportada no chão para que seja fácil a conversão imersiva da sala e auditório em exposições modulares individuais para diversas utilizações.

In this film about the Porto Innovation Hub project, from the architects Fahr 021.3, Building Pictures has documented the different construction phases until the moment in which space becomes inhabited.
The film is constituted by three parts: 1st part: process – factories; 2nd part: process – construction site; 3rd part: architectural work.
Neste filme sobre o projecto Porto Innovation Hub, dos arquitectos Fahr 021.3, a Building Pictures documentou as diferentes fases de construção até o espaço ser habitado.
O filme divide-se em três parte: 1a parte: processo – fábricas; 2a parte: processo – obra; 3a parte: obra.
1st Part
The goal is to show the manufacturing process which this project required and, at the same time, how complex and demanding it is. The process required the use of different techniques, such as the production of fabrics, locksmith, painting, sewing, and assembling parts.
During the process, Building Pictures noticed that besides the images, the sounds were capable of identifying each process. Thus, the audio is quite raw during the first part of the film and, as the project acquires form, the sounds transform into a melody.
1ª Parte
O objectivo é mostrar o processo de manufactura envolvido neste projecto e ao mesmo tempo como é complexo e exigente. O processo requereu o uso diferentes técnicas como a produção de tecidos, serralharia, pintura, cozer e montagem de peças.
2nd Part
During this moment, the film takes us to the workplace of the architectural work and, through time lapses, we become spectators of a sinuous dance between bodies and materials, which result in a built place.
2ª Parte
Neste momento o filme leva-nos até ao estaleiro de obra e através de timelapses, assistimos a uma dança sinuosa de corpos e material, dando lugar a um espaço construído.
3rd Part
During the last part of the film, the project is built and is made a route in its interior, constantly resorting to movement shots, showing the flow and surprises that each space has in every spot and the way people appropriate space.
3ª Parte
Na última parte do filme o projecto está construído e é feito um percurso no seu interior recorrendo constantemente a planos de movimento, mostrando a fluidez e surpresas que o espaço reserva a cada recanto e a forma como as pessoas se apropriam do espaço.
The film ends in the exterior and explores the relationship between the light of the space and the exterior and its confrontation with the bustling urban environment, which is characteristic of the Porto city center.
O filme termina no exterior, e explora a relação da luz do espaço com o exterior e a sua confrontação com o meio urbano movimentado próprio do centro da cidade do Porto.
